Carlos Falchi

Carlos Falchi began designing bags in Manhattan in the 1970’s and the fashion elite immediately embraced his relaxed vision of the handbag.  These bags were soft and in non-traditional colours, but were big enough to carry everything that you needed.  In 1983 Carlos won the prestigious Coty Award for Accessories design. In addition, several of his designs have been placed in the permanent collection of The Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  “My designs are classics.  Clients have my bags for 20-30 years and they are always in style.” Each Falchi bag is handcrafted and takes about 3 days to create.  Normally only about 100 bags are made of each style.  A master leathersmith, Falchi has always applied the highest quality workmanship to his designs, as well as selecting the finest leathers and exotic skins. Carlos Falchi’s legion of fans includes the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Susan Sarandon, Melanie Griffith and Madonna. His celebrity fan base now encompasses a new generation, with a throng of young, Hollywood “it” girls – Sienna Miller, Jessica Simpson and Eva Longoria – toting his bags.
