Making Monday Pretty: Neutral Colourblocked Nails

Posted by Hayley French on

This week we started receiving our gorgeous spring bags, and noticed that geometric prints and colour blocking seemed to be popping up a lot. We couldn't help but think what a chic mani this would make to subtly start welcoming spring! Here's how we did it...

1. Start with clean nails and apply your favourite base coat. You can apple a base colour if you like, but heres a tip, if you're worried about drawing straight lines with the polish, having a bare nail underneath means you can tidy up any wobbly edges with some remover without disturbing any polish colour underneath!

2. Starting about three quarters up the nail, carefully draw a diagonal stripe across your nail. You can use the nail polish brush or a striping brush dipped in white polish and then fill in the the triangle. Let that dry for about 5 minutes.

3. Repeat with the same motion on the other side of the nail, this time with black polish and overlapping the white triangle you painted earlier. Let this dry for at least ten minutes as you don't want any smudging or smearing and then paint a super glossy top coat over your design to lock it in place!

Voila! A super simple and chic mani that will add a little something to your everyday looks!
