Leisure rules in 1986's Ferris Bueller's Day Off starring the very lovable young Mathew Broderick. Teens across the globe we're inspired by Ferris' struggle to take it easy and skip school in a hilariously elaborate plot. Rooting for him as he out wits, well, everyone, is one of our favourite pastimes and we're not going to lie to you- we do still have a copy of this flick on VHS. In the words of the other lovable and best friend, Cameron Frye, "Ferris Bueller, you're my hero".
The object of Ferris' affection is Sloane Peterson, played by Mia Sara. His high school sweetheart is fully supportive of his scheming and by the end of the film their commitment level hits a peak. Very romantic for a couple of seventeen-year-olds. Her cute and quirky personality is definitely a highlight.
